If a person uttered three Talaaqs in one go to his wife, is the Talaaq applicable? And What if he Wishes to Marry her again?

Query:

If a person uttered three Talaaqs in one go to his wife, is the Talaaq applicable, and if he has given Talaaqs to his wife and he wishes to marry her again what should he do ?

Answer:

Talaaq has applied. All three Talaaqs have applied, and the wife has become Haraam upon him to such a level, that without ‘Halaalah’ she cannot be Halaal upon him. The (method) of Halaalah is that after the woman completes her Iddat, she has to make ‘Nikah e Sahi’ i.e. a proper legal Nikah to someone (else), and after consummating with her, if he gives her Talaaq or passes away, or Allah Forbid if he becomes a Murtad i.e. an apostate, then if this woman wishes to make Nikah to the former husband, she will complete the Iddat (again) and with a fresh Mahr (Marriage Dowry), she can make Nikah to him.
