When is it Mustahab, i.e. desirable, to take a bath?

Answer:

It is Mustahab to make Ghusl:

  1. For Waqoof e Arafat

  2. For Waqoof at Muzdalifa

  3. Before presenting yourself in the Holy Haram

  4. Before presenting yourself in the Holy Court of Rasoolullah

  5. For Tawaaf

  6. For entering Mina

  7. To pelt the Jamraat with pebbles on all 3 days

  8. For Shab-e-Bara’at & Shab-e-Qadr

  9. On the Night of Arafat

  10. Before going to a Meelad Shareef & other blessed gatherings

  11. After bathing a deceased

  12. After an insane person starts to regain his sanity

  13. After regaining consciousness from an unconscious state

  14. After starting to come out of an intoxicated state

  15. After repenting (making Tauba) from your sins

  16. Before wearing new clothing

  17. After returning from a journey

  18. After the blood of Istihaaza stops

  19. For Namaaz of Lunar and Solar Eclipse

  20. For Salaat ul Istisqa (to pray for rain)

  21. During times of fear and darkness

  22. When being pounded by fierce winds

  23. If there is impurity on the body and one does not know where on the body it is.
