Is it Permissible to Fold Sleeves and Pants for Salah?
Question:
Is it permissible to fold the sleeves and pants to perform Salah?
Answer:
It is Makruh Tahrimi (close to Harãm) and Wājib (obligatory) to repeat that Salāh. If one does not repeat the Salāh, one will be a sinner. (This forbiddance is due to Kaff Thoub - folding of clothes. The shirt, kurta or pants was not sown to be worn in this manner. No one will wear it in this way and attend a function or go to work. Why should he then fold the clothes when he stands in the Divine Court of Allāh We? This is disrespect to the Divine Court of the Almighty Lord We.)
