Ruling on Sunni Who Defends and Supports Ghair Muqallids

··2 min read·2 views

Question:

Zaid does all things like Sunnis, but he says that the ‘Ahle Khabees’ are fine (i.e. here the person asking the question is referring to the Ghayr Muqallids). What is the ruling regarding Zaid?

Answer:

Just because he acts in accordance with the Sunnis the command of him being a Sunni will not be given.

This evil is very common in India. It is seen that there are people who do not hold the Aqida of the Ahle Sunnat wal Jama’at but many of the laymen are deceived by their apparent actions, and they also do Niyaz and Faateha and also go to the Mazaars, whereas at the same time they regard the Wahabis and Deobandis who hold kufri beliefs to be their leaders and guides, and they regard them as being on the righteous path.

If he practices upon the manner of the Ahle Sunnat wal Jama’at and says that, he regards the Ghayr Muqallids (i.e. non conformist) who in reality are Wahabis, as being right, then such a person is not a Sunni.

It is necessary upon him to make Tauba, i.e. repent from this statement of his, and he should make clear his abhorrence and announce his detachment from the Ghayr Muqallids and from every deviant, and only then will the ruling of him being a Sunni be valid.
